Home / We made a cloud in Tarzan – the study of Nine Female Peaks
Project Location: Daiyue District, Tai’an City, Shandong Province
Building type: Landscape membrane structure
Construction period 2019.05-2019.09
The head of the five mountains, Mount Tai, people usually come here to enjoy the magnificent scenery, look at the peaks of the mountains, and feel the great rivers and mountains of the motherland. But on the Nine Female Peak, there is a study room like a cloud – the Nine Female Peak Study Room
Jiunufeng Study Room is located in Dongximen Village, Daiyue District, Tai’an City, adjacent to the Shenlong Grand Canyon, and east of Mount Tai, the head of the Five Mountains. The base is surrounded by mountains, full of rocks like sheep, with a broad view overlooking the canyons and ravines and the peaks of the mountains.
01 Site and form
The study is located at the commanding point of the col, facing the mountains to the east, backed by the village, and looming when driving up.
The building is divided into three parts from top to bottom: white “clouds”, transparent glass, and heavy rough stone wall bases. The north side faces the transparent interface of the canyon peak, and the narrow aisle of the entrance connects the coffee area and reading lounge area at both ends, and the closing room blurs the boundary between the architecture and the natural landscape, giving visitors and readers the illusion of being on the top of the mountain forest.
02 Materials and construction
The main building of the study room of Jiunufeng adopts a combination of light steel and membrane structure system, which has the characteristics of strong and reliable and lightweight, so that the study can follow the mountain situation and outline a light and stretched shape with natural curves on the top of the mountain.
The inner and outer membranes of the book house are made of white environmental protection film, which is made of a series of arched light steel keels with gradation in size, which accurately ensures the smoothness, softness and smoothness of the special-shaped shape of the roof.
The inner membrane at the top of the room is covered with a light strip behind it, and the entire curved inner membrane at night is evenly flooded, and the light escapes from the high window between the stone wall and the membrane surface, and the clouds are glowing in the distance.
03 Construction and implementation
Construction began in April 2019 and was completed and accepted in September 4, and uncertainties on site forced the project manager to adjust the construction plan to update and adjust the construction work accordingly.
1 Main structure construction
The steel and film are first processed by Yexing’s own processing plant and then transported up the mountain, and the factory prefabricated unit components ensure the accuracy and construction period of construction.
A thin steel column with a diameter of 150 mm supports the curved ring beam, and a double layer of 28 pairs of arched keels is built on the ring beam, which is a series of curved keels with graded dimensions and densely arranged, providing support for the smooth tension of the inner and outer double membranes.
2 Inner and outer membrane structure installation
28 pairs of arched keels are tied with steel wire mesh, and tin foil is tiled to evenly reflect the light of the LED light strip, and the tin foil is covered and fixed with bag seal insulation. The inner membrane fixed on the inside of the lower keel is a light box cloth, which is completed by a metal buckle with a fine suspension auxiliary tension.
04 Conclusion
When the morning light is slightly exposed, the transparent glass volume is hidden in the forest; When night falls, the “clouds” float in the mountains with a shimmering light; Inside, visitors are immersed in a relaxing space atmosphere to read and meditate. Architectural spaces born of the environment exist in the dynamically evolving natural landscape, which we attribute to nature in the most concise and direct way.
