Currently, most of the fire detectors widely used in various buildings use smoke concentration and temperature as signals for detection, and most of them are ceiling mounted. The floor height of ordinary buildings is mostly below 6 meters, and fire smoke can quickly reach the ceiling and be detected by detectors, making the warning effect very ideal.

ETFE membrane structures are generally used as large-scale commercial building facilities, with a high ground clearance (usually over 6 meters). In the event of a fire, the smoke is continuously cooled and diluted during the ascent process, and the concentration and temperature are greatly reduced upon reaching the ceiling, which is insufficient to activate the fire detector.
