Hangzhou West Railway Station, a key supporting project for the Hangzhou Asian Games, is about to be completed and open to traffic. The hub station building of Hangzhou West Railway Station is designed by the Zhujing Design Team led by academician Mr. Cheng Taining, and the co-designer is China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd.

The waiting room is designed with a “cloud waiting hall” as its design concept, using a cloud-like floating roof, and a glass ceiling in the middle of the station building to imitate the gaps between the clouds, forming a “cloud valley” that solves the problem of the station and the city. The complex transportation organization realizes the central rapid entry system through the “Cloud Road”, integrates the functions of the station and the city through the “Cloud Hall”, and designs the “Cloud Gate” complex outside the station building, shaping it with the Jiangnan intention. To create a unique urban image for it, use isomorphic techniques to unify the facade image of the complex, and create a modern Jiangnan urban settlement through the “sea of clouds” atmosphere.

Hangzhou West Railway Station makes full use of the roof resources of the station building to lay 7,540 400Wp monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic modules, with a laying area of 15,000 square meters and an installed capacity of 3 MW. Viewed from the air, this majestic and extra-large railway passenger station looks like clouds. At night, the blue skylight is like a “star of the ocean” embedded in the roof of the West Station.

One of the most outstanding designs of the entire West Railway Station hub is the “Cloud Waiting Hall”: natural light is introduced into the station through cross skylights. Light has not only become a “sharp tool” for the Cloud Hall to create a sense of “in the clouds” atmosphere, but has also been cleverly turned into a “lighthouse” that guides people’s direction.

Ferrari SK20 high light transmittance film (Tv%=47%) is installed under the cross skylight of Hangzhou West Railway Station, and sunlight diffuses through the film surface into the entire waiting hall. SK20 film material is made of glass fiber substrate + silicon coating process. The diffusely transmitted light is bright cold light, which is different from the yellow warm light of ordinary light-transmitting films, and is more natural and comfortable.

After Hangzhou West Railway Station is completed and put into operation, it will light up the railway transportation network in western Zhejiang and northern Zhejiang and become the third largest gateway transportation hub in Hangzhou after Hangzhou East Railway Station and Xiaoshan Airport. It will play a significant role in improving the comprehensive transportation level and convenience in western Hangzhou.
