This project is a hotel building located in a seaside resort on Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam. In order to give the building a new vision that is both modern and traditional, the designer chose the lantern as the main concept. At night, the “lantern” of the Wyndham Club will create a gentle and delicate sense of light and become a highlight at the entrance of the resort. In addition, the main material used in the project is red brick, which expresses the delicate and precise beauty of the local stonemason craftsmanship.

During the day, bricks and tiles can resist and soften the fierce tropical sunlight and provide a good natural ventilation environment for the building. These elements are also one of the first elements to be considered in tropical climate buildings. In addition, the courtyard in the lobby space once again emphasizes the unchanging value of Vietnamese classic architecture that has been passed down to this day, and thus has become a crucial element in the project.

The building rationally utilizes, softens, and creates a spatial experience of contrasting natural light, while also creating conditions for natural wind convection in all areas, thereby creating a relatively independent and relaxing atmosphere for tourists. In addition, local materials such as bamboo, bricks, wood and grindstone in the project are integrated and recreated into a perfect combination to echo the local environment and establish a “strong” connection.

For Wyndham Club, one of the basic values ​​of architecture in daily life is whether it can provide sufficient shade so that people can linger under the eaves of the building and enjoy the beauty of nature in light, wind, grass and water as much as possible.
