Endless fields, sleeping ancient buildings, simple and friendly villagers, ancient trees at the village entrance quietly guarding the traces of time, mottled marks on the walls, and the deep atmosphere in the alleys… quiet and beautiful. The slow and quiet, ancient and watchful, carved beams and painted rafters and ancient tree ponds that people yearn for are all treasured in villages and have never been eliminated.

The project is located in the northern part of the central urban area of Dongkeng Town, with a total area of about 300 hectares, including a key design area of about 70 hectares, involving three villages: Dingwu, Pengwu, and Huangwu.

The Hanxi River flows like a jade belt through the area, adding vitality and agility to the hills on both sides. The mountains and waters are interdependent, forming a beautiful painting. The ancient villages within the area still retain their traditional style and culture, with scattered village houses, neat and uniform feng shui ponds, and clearly visible historical relics such as ancestral halls. Adorned with ancient and famous trees, it highlights the excellence and characteristics of the ecological environment. This is a treasure trove that combines nature and culture.

Based on the superior basic conditions, the design takes “Xintiandi of Mountains and Rivers” as the theme, and through five strategies of ecological restoration, environmental improvement, traffic optimization, function improvement, and highlighting characteristics, while respecting the original style of the village, it creates a functional space that meets the needs of modern life and recreation, and creates a landscape dwelling model with cultural charm.

The mountain has lush trees and a good ecological foundation. The designer uses a light intervention technique to transform it without destroying its natural beauty. Climbing up to a high place and looking into the distance, a panoramic view comes into view: the lake is sparkling, the ancient village is quiet and peaceful, and the city is faintly visible in the distance.

The moon is bright in our hometown. During the Mid Autumn Festival, we yearn to admire the moonlight with our loved ones. Here, a bright moon is artificially constructed to showcase the charm of hometown culture. The “Moon” sculpture not only fits the theme of the pastoral scenery of Yueming Lake, but also serves as a distinctive symbol of the entrance. Using German imported PEFE mesh, it is lightweight, transparent, and full of artistic sense.

With the successful completion of the project, the village has taken on a new look, with picturesque scenery, quiet atmosphere, rich culture, and the charm of “Xintiandi of Mountains and Rivers” has been demonstrated. Since its opening, the park has attracted a continuous stream of tourists and has become a popular check-in spot for internet celebrities. The night is getting darker, and the hundred meter night market stalls are bustling, adding wealth and dreams to farmers and injecting new vitality into the countryside. On the occasion of the 2023 New Year, brilliant fireworks bloomed by the Yueming Lake, presenting a festive feast for the citizens. Many activities related to the national intangible cultural heritage project “February 2nd” in Dongkeng Town are also being carried out here. The beautiful environment not only attracts tourists, but also promotes commercial development. Currently, Pengwu’s first specialty beverage store has opened. In the future, various industries such as cultural and creative industries, homestays, and catering will be introduced, and various themed cultural activities will be held to enhance the vitality of the area, so that the area can “see the mountains and water, retain nostalgia”, and achieve the rural revitalization goal of “livable, business friendly, and tourism friendly”.
