This is a gymnasium with the main purpose of satisfying sports and commercial sales in the park. The early planning design unified the visual hammer in the venue, using the UFIDA red and UFIDA gray in the UFIDA visual image specification as the main color of the space. The stadium, gym and runway area are empowered by orange, blue and green partitions. The multi-color walls with different color temperatures transition from one area to another, penetrate each other and form a harmonious connection.

The facade before the renovation was relatively simple and old. Based on this, the size of the original door head was first expanded. The metal stretch mesh material extended from the door head to the interior. When the light tube shines through the metal mesh from top to bottom, the refraction makes the scattered fragmented components become a unique whole. The red ceiling with strong color emotions creates more layers between the translucency. The design attempts to stimulate people’s curiosity and thirst for knowledge about the renovated venue: just like a child always wants to know what is in the gift box.

The entrance of the renovated new gymnasium adopts an open oblique cut shape to welcome the public, softening the rigid boundaries between the original venue. Color is a concept of spatial guidance and also a part of decoration. The north facade of the building faces a large area of ​​green space as an extension of the spatial sports form. The entrance and the green space are integrated, giving people a sense of spaciousness and relaxation, and the open leisure area added to the north entrance attracts people to walk in and really use every space of it.

The clear and simple plane planning allows visitors to quickly understand the architectural space. The venue contains a variety of sports types and supporting services. In the early stage of the design, the different experiences and possible problems required by users in the set scenes were considered from different angles. The specially customized icons and guides were selected to facilitate a more soothing connection of the entire space, using colors to divide the scenes, find order in colors, and find movement rules in the splicing and overlap of materials.

The original skylight of the arched structure of the gymnasium is still retained, but in order to prevent the influence of uncontrollable natural light on sports, a light-transmitting film is installed on the inside of the glass to ensure natural lighting and take care of the needs of badminton.

The initial design started from the runway, with its extended tension as the concept creation. When it was finally completed, it also carried the spiritual concept conveyed by the entire three-story space. It is hoped that color can awaken the spirit of the sports field and conceive the possible scenarios in the venue, so as to use these building materials to create space by imagining how people meet, interact and echo with the surrounding landscape.
