The design inspiration of the project comes from “waves and conchs”, and the design concept is “colorful waves”. The building facade is set in “ocean blue”, the ceiling is white “blue sea and white clouds” and the finish symbolizes the form of sparkling water, integrating Dalian’s marine culture and football spirit. At night, the entire stadium is full of light and extremely romantic. The lighting system forms a sense of hierarchy through complex and regular arrangements, highlighting the romantic seaside tones. The project roof uses about 40,000 square meters of PTFE membrane to form a wave shape. The facade consists of ETFE cable membrane structure and surrounding cable membrane floodlighting system. Among them, the facade uses ETFE membrane for nearly 40,000 square meters, including 9 kinds of blue membrane materials and 7,823 membrane sheets. It is currently the largest membrane structure covering the professional football field in the world and the project with the most single-layer ETFE membrane structure.

The seats in the stadium stands are made of gray and blue, a total of 6 colors, which gradually fade from the low area to the high area. The use of curves and gradient techniques reflects the rolling form of the waves, showing the active and lively atmosphere of the stadium and the distinctive characteristics of the ocean city.
