The square, round, and upright architectural form of the Zhengzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium fully combines the functional requirements and structural characteristics of the event. The exterior facade of the stadium adopts a zigzag texture, combining virtual and solid, forming iconic openings at the north and south ends, opening up the north and south sight corridors. In normal times, it serves as a viewing frame for the infield to view the city scenery, bringing the city scenery into the stadium; during games, it can It serves as a construction site for temporary seats to further expand the stadium’s audience capacity.
The stadium is a large Class A comprehensive stadium with 60,000 seats (50,000 fixed seats + 10,000 temporary seats), with a total construction area of approximately 219,000 square meters and a total building height of 54.39m. The canopy innovatively adopts a combined structural system of “triangular giant truss + facade truss + grid + large opening spoke cable-supported grid structure”. The maximum cantilever length is 54.1m, making it the largest cantilevered canopy in the world.
