The project is a simulated flight amusement theater located in Shijingshan Amusement Park in Shijingshan District in western Beijing. It provides an irresistible immersive flight experience by projecting high-quality images on a giant screen. Including an immersive experience of China’s beautiful rivers and mountains and allowing visitors to experience spectacular scenery from all over the world.

The three volumes of the existing building and the extension are connected by the facade to form a unified image. The dynamic images produced by the collision of these huge, simple geometric shapes are reminiscent of the grandeur and power of nature, just like the flight experience in the theater, making people feel surrounded by nature in the process of going from the outside to the inside.

By covering the three sides of the irregular volume structure formed by the existing building with a membrane structure, its image in the park is simplified. At the same time, by adopting parametric design and introducing the dynamics of natural textures, the design of the membrane structure is given a homogeneous dynamic image, providing a homogeneous dynamic image.

The buildings all adopt the theme color of the project – red. First, a volume that meets the basic functions of the building is built, and then a flexible form made of membrane materials is superimposed on the volume to create a dynamic image. This treatment not only shortens the construction period, but also greatly reduces the project cost.

In this project, the aim is to provide an experience and image that cannot be obtained through simple imitation by analyzing and simplifying the principles of dynamics and power in nature and incorporating them into the expression of geometric forms.
